EVALUATIONS AND REPORT CARDS
Evaluations: When there are multiple sets of testing data to be interpreted by a certified or licensed professional, a complete evaluation is in order. The assessment results offer a learning picture of your student to give valuable information. The purpose is to determine a student's achievement levels to set future learning objectives.
An evaluation means the making of judgments about the value for some purpose, offering solutions and methods. It involves the use of criteria as well as standards for appraising the extent to which the particulars are accurate and effective. The judgments may be qualitative or quantitative. The criteria are lined up by category to determine student strengths and weaknesses. (Bloom, B. 1956, Bloom's Taxonomy of the Cognitive Domain (Bloom et al., 1956). Huitt, W. (2009). Report Cards:Schools also submit a series of report cards. Each subject category should reflect what the child has learned, and has successfully achieved on the state interim tests. Is important that the parent follow and understand the interim tests and compare these results to what is stated on the child's report cards. The information should be in sync and reflect the child's learning ability in that particular academic subject matter.
