Assessment of learning takes place at the completion of a unit of instruction, during, and at the end of the school year. It is to evaluate student achievement in a particular skill set, to measure student, school, or program success. It tells the teacher if there needs to be review and continuation within particular criteria. Subsequently, it is also directed to make educational decisions.
